We are excited about the 2017 band trip to Disney over spring-break. For planning purposes (school-district approval, early reservations, better pricing, etc) we need to get a headcount of expected participants.

The band awards potluck will be held on June 14th at 6:00 at
Game Farm Park. If the weather is not conducive for an outdoor activity, the banquet will be moved to the Commons. This is a potluck so start planning what you would like to bring.

Congratulations to Gretchen Tapp, parent of AMHS Band students Austin (graduated 2012) and Sabrina (class of 2015). She is also a past AMHS-BPA President and organizer for two previous trips by the AMHS Band to Disney.

Saturday, November 10, the Auburn Mountainview High School “Roar of the Lions” Marching Band and Color Guard competed in the 29th annual Auburn Veteran’s Day Parade and Field Show Competition.
Beginning at 11:30 am, stepping off in the Auburn Veteran’s Day Parade, the “ROL” marched to the 3rd movement of their show, “PAN!”, titled “You Can Fly!”, stepping into their first ever, 1st Place Award in this event, competing against 9 other marching bands! At 2:45 pm, the Roar of the Lions MB/CG then entered the field performing their 5 mvt. presentation of PAN!, and came away with the 2nd Place Award in for this event, in competition with 8 additional bands! In rank and placement of the entire day’s competiton, out of 24 Bands in Parade and Field Show Competition, the AMHS Marching Band and Color Guard ranked 10th Place overall. Our best rank and placement in our school’s history!
This year’s award winning group is led by Drum Majors: Senior-Annette Harnish, Junior-Chayse Skinner and Color Guard Captain: Senior Melissa Felton, under the guidance Director- Derek Pyle, Marching Band Coaches- Erik Burrough, Geoffrey Smith, Travis Dietz and Victoria Powell, and Color Guard Coach- Teena Bailie.
Please join me in congratulating these fine young people for presenting another successful Marching Band/Color Guard festival season! Their coaches and I could not be more proud of their accomplishments!

At the final Rainier Middle School concert of the year, BPA Co-President Niki Nelson presented a check for $200 to Band Director Scott Allen for the purchase of music and supplies for his program.
This is an early project in the AMHS-BPA’s expansion of support beyond the Mountainview Bands to gain visibility and promote music education throughout the Auburn School District.

This website is more than you might expect. Sure, we have a calendar and a mailing list, but we also have many integrated tools to help you stay informed of the latest AMHS Bands and BPA news and events.
